There are countless times that I quit on something. Quitting sometimes is a panic button that we deliberately push in times of desperate situation. But there's a distinguish person in the American history who never quit throughout his lifetime. His name is Abraham Lincoln. And I look up to his example of persistence and his will not to quit. Born into poverty, Lincoln was faced with defeat throughout his life. He failed in business venture and suffered a nervous breakdown. He lost eight elections but he never quit and eventually became one of the greatest presidents in the history of the United States of America.
Persistence is a virtue that we can develop in the midst of our adversity. If tempted to quit on anything, here are some of the list of Lincoln's road to success. While experiencing adversity, yet he never quit.
1816: His family was forced out of their home.
He had to work to support them.

1831: Failed in business
1832: He ran for state legislature and he lost.
